Physician Assistant – Neurosurgical Critical Care
Physician Assistant Responsibilities
The Physician provider would rotate in two varied surgical intensive care units and one surgical stepdown unit. The Physician Assistant works in collaboration with the attending intensivist, critical care fellows, residents, the primary admitting team and consultants.
Physician Assistant responsibilities include managing multiple patients with varied critical illness, comprehensive physical assessments, interpretation of diagnostic results, hemodynamic/ventilator management, continuous veno-venous hemofiltration (CVVH), daily progress notes, patient/family education and meetings. Extensive training and supervision is provided to the Physician Assistant provider for skills such as arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and transcranial dopplers.
Schedule: Full Time 40 hours. Weekend/ Nights/ Holiday rotation required. (Differentials offered.)
